Times are shifting. Those among us who have noticed these subtle changes, these microscopic adjustments, have likely also noticed that this is not necessarily a good thing. Every day there seems to be a new struggle, a new disease, a new thorn lodged in the boot of humanity. And every day there seems to be more and more people succumbing to the mindless submission we are all encouraged to fall in to. Those who dare step outside the constricting bonds of conformity are chastised, ridiculed, or worse. Individuality is swiftly disappearing in favor of conformity.

To me, this is the worst sort of outcome for our world. When identity is replaced with blind obedience, the very foundation of democracy begins to crumble. When lies become so pervasive, they are easily mistaken for truth, true freedom is impossible. Until we have a world where knowledge is shared freely and honesty is upheld consistently, true consent cannot be given to those who govern.

That is what this blog is about. It is about education. It is about freedom. It is about honesty. And, most importantly, it is about non-conformity. In the posts that follow, I will be praising and criticizing, informing and critiquing, and most importantly, using my voice. So before we begin, if you take anything away from my posts, let it be this.
